There are 2 things I hear more often than any other…

1. “You sure have a Wonderful Family”

2. “I Want My Yard To Look Like My Neighbors”

For now, we will discuss the latter. The Gardener’s Shadow provides a service of Weed CONTROL and Fertilization. This program combined with proper maintenance techniques will, without question, get you results. Here is the catch… It requires time and effort (or money) on your behalf for the results to be maximized.  I have looked out my Dads Living Room window AT LEAST a dozen times and listened to him say the same thing, “WHY DOESN’T MY YARD LOOK LIKE KEN’S?”. Keep in mind, this is without fail being said while from the comfort of his air conditioned living room, as we watch Ken BUST HIS ASS. He is mowing, edging, raking, blowing, dethatching. All the while my dad has about a 3” layer of leaves leftover from 5 months before and the neighborhood kids are trying to find their Soccer ball under his grass!!

The point is this: there is not a product or system in the Mid South that will eradicate all weeds and keep your turf a brilliant green all year long, but there is a Company who wants it to be these things for as long as Mother Nature will allow!! The Gardener’s Shadow wants your yard to be as spectacular as it can be. I strongly encourage you to pick up the phone and ask me any questions you might have regarding your lawn. We are in this thing together. I do not have all the answers, but I will do my darnest to get them!!

Simple “Rules of Thumb, when in Doubt”:

1. Keep Mower Blades sharp and around 2” in height.

2. Cut on a 6-9 Day Cycle

3. Never cut more than 1/3 of the total height off the top of your grass at one time

4. Water AT LEAST 2 X’s a week (less frequent for longer periods help establish deep, strong roots).

5. If you EVER feel like a question is “Dumb” or “Ridiculous”…. You have never been in my Dad’s Living Room.
