Rookie BLOGGER
I am slowly entering the “IT” world and hope that everyone will bear with me. The Gardener’s Shadow, LLC. is excited about the opportunity to establish a “following” and maybe learning a thing or two along the way. I encourage questions regarding your lawn/landscape and will do my best to respond in a timely fashion. This being said, I am also looking forward to sharing some of the things I deal with on a day to day basis and the decisions that are attached to them. I encourage feedback and/or advice because we are all in this together, right?
This Blog will be used for business, but will also include day to day “rants and raves” from all over the spectrum of life. I have a Beautiful wife and what I believe are the two best children ever created. Keeping them happy and healthy is as much a part of my business as The Gardener’s Shadow. In regards to my family, like my business, I certainly do NOT have all the right answers to all the questions. However, I do hope that anyone out there will feel free to offer up any advice on whatever the subject might be for the day/week/month. I apologize in advance if I come off as long winded. This being said, when it comes to my business and my family there is a lot for me to talk about. I have what I feel is the best family in the world and am constantly trying to make the right decisions so that we can all be happy. Although my business is not the biggest or best in the world, I am quite proud of it.
The Gardener’s Shadow has THE VERY BEST customer base in the Greater Memphis area. This is because of the values instilled in me for as long as I can remember. If I feel as if a customer is not satisfied with the services we provide, I try my damnest to fix it. If I feel as if the customer is not capable of being satisfied, I encourage them to look elsewhere. This might not be the best practice from a monetary standpoint, but it sure makes dealing with my existing customers much more pleasant. My opinion is that if you don’t enjoy your work then your probably going to have a pretty difficult time enjoying the time spent in between work…..while waiting to go back to work.
People measure success in many different ways. My ruler tends to stretch towards overall happiness. If I make a few Million $$’s and do not spend time with my wife and kids than I am a failure. Alternatively, if I spend all my time with my wife and kids and cannot provide for them, than I have fallen short. It is a constant struggle to find the right balance. Fortunately I have my best friend, who happens to be my wife, to help keep me focused and on the right track.
I think the most difficult job in the world is to be a successful Dad. To be there physically, emotionally, and financially (CONSISTENTLY) is asking a LOT! My father has already won that race, by a landslide. My competitive nature is to meet him at the finish line and I will accept nothing short of this goal. If I can do this…than I will have accomplished everything on this earth that I have set out to do. SO Friends, Romans, Countrymen…Boys and Girls of all ages races, colors, and creeds….please fasten your seat belts and put your trays in their full upright positions. “Air Wilson Horrell’s life” is about to take off (through this blog spot) and I hope that with the help, support and advice from some of you out there in cyberspace, we will never land and enjoy a happy, exciting, successful, and kind life with both business and family.
***** ”…The Best Fertilizer is The Gardener’s Shadow!!” ****
PS- My grammar is poor, at best. You may point it out if you like but it will probably not help…..that is not included in my scorecard for success/happiness!!
