“How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.” - George Washinton Carver

I read that quote this morning and it really “hit home”. I have a customer who is about 75 years YOUNG. She is loyal, respectful, pays on time, and understanding of “The Gardener’s Shadow,LLC’s” hectic schedule. The Gardener’s Shadow maintains Irrigation and/or Turf in a great deal of the people who live in this particular cove. She has an Irrigation System, but I noticed a water hose in the front yard. While it was late and was NOT there to work on her Irrigation, but to price a new customer. This sweet, old lady came over to greet me with a hug. There was NO mention of her water hose. I later asked, “why are you watering with your hose?”. Her response was “it has been so hot, I did not want to bother you with my broken Irrigation head….. I know you have a family, it is late and you need to go be with your wife and kids”. This is NOT always the process with which problems are presented to me. It turned out to be a “nozzle”, which had come loose and making a geyser. The situation was fixed in about 2 minutes and $1.79 later.
What is my point? My point is that owning a Service Business can have some REAL advantages, like helping someone in need, where the $$’s are not on the forefront, but the experience, perspective, and peace of mind pays BIG dividends. Yall have a good one, Wilson Horrell The Gardener’s Shadow, LLC. www.thegardenersshadow.com
